Abstract : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of estrogens - like activity and safety for breast cancer cell proliferation of Pueraria lobata. After confirming the inhibition of cell proliferation, western blotting was performed to measure apoptosis inducing protein expression. PMB34 decreased Bcl-2 in MCF-7 cells and increased Bax, resulting in increased expression of caspase-3, caspase-8, and caspase-9 and induced apoptosis. As a result, it was found that the active ingredient PMB34 fractionated from Pueraria lobata had an effect of estrogen-like activity, inhibited the proliferation of human breast cancer cells and activated the apoptosis mechanism.
